Log Cabin Republicans: Who We Are
We are loyal Republicans who work together with the RNC, NRSC and NRCC and other conservative organizations to support GOP candidates who have earned the endorsement of Log Cabin Republicans PAC and the support of our membership through their pro-equality records and principles. We are servicemembers, veterans and civilians who greatly respect the United States military and its culture of honor, duty and sacrifice. As a captain in the Army Reserve, Log Cabin's executive director R. Clarke Cooper is uniquely qualified to speak out on behalf of servicemembers who were affected by "Don't Ask, Don't Tell." We are small business owners, entrepreneurs, shareholders and employees who believe in free markets, low taxes and the power of the private sector to create prosperity and grow our economy. We know that preventing discrimination in the workplace is not just the right thing to do, it is good for the bottom line and the economy as a whole. We are men and women who are committed to protecting our families, including our children. We believe in personal responsibility, which translates into soberly entering into marriage, adopting children in need of homes, protecting ourselves through responsible exercise of our second amendment rights, preparing ourselves for retirement that is not dependent on government support, and standing against harassment in our schools. We are the grassroots of the GOP, and our chapters and members can be counted on to volunteer for local candidates, participate in state and local Republican Party committees, and to run for elected office. We are team players who do not check our pro-equality principles at the door, but rather use them for the good of the Party. |
