Issue: Defending the Constitution
In 2004, the anti-family Federal Marriage Amendment failed to pass in both the United States House of Representatives and the United States Senate. Unfortunately, we know this amendment is not going away. Leaders on the far right already have begun working to push for another vote during the 109th Congress. This is the biggest threat ever to gay and lesbian civil rights in America. If this amendment becomes part of the United States Constitution, gay and lesbian Americans will be treated as second class citizens for generations to come. We need your help to defend the United States Constitution. Please call (202) 225-3121 and let your Senator or Representative know where you stand. Tell them to oppose any effort to write discrimination into our Constitution. |
