Here's the thing about being gay: you're an advocate just by coming out. Whether you like it or not, straight America looks to you for some kind of understanding about a (dare I say it?) lifestyle they still find unfathomable. I don't care if you're working down at the 7-Eleven, in the corporate office or Hollywood.
