CHRISTOPHER BARRON, POLITICAL DIRECTOR
Christopher Barron mixes a life-long involvement in politics with a distinguished legal background. He joined Log Cabin Republicans as Political Director in February 2004. Most recently, Chris served as a consultant to the litigation boutique firm of Watson & Renner, in Washington, DC. At Watson & Renner, Chris worked on a variety of legal issues, almost exclusively on the defense side. His work included helping to protect a variety of cellular phone and electrical power industry clients from junk-science driven litigation. Chris also worked on a variety of corporate governance issues.
Previously, Chris was an associate at the law firm of Powell, Goldstein, Frazer & Murphy in Atlanta, Georgia, where he was a member of the Business & Financial Institutions Litigation Group.
Chris graduated from Wake Forest University School of Law with honors. At Wake Forest, Chris was a member of the Wake Forest Law Review, was the Wake Law Faculty Scholar, and received a variety of academic awards and honors.
Chris has a long history of political involvement, including serving as a Republican precinct Chair, an elected Eastern NC Republican Party delegate, and paid campaign staff. Chris has also been an active volunteer in a variety of Republican campaigns on the state, local and national level. Chris is an active member of the DC Republican Committee and serves as the DC GOP's Ward 2 Chairman.
Chris graduated from East Carolina University, where he served as Vice-President of the ECU College Republicans, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He grew up in rural eastern North Carolina and currently lives with his partner Shawn Gardner in Washington, DC. |
