Log Cabin Republicans Call on Illinois General Assembly to Pass Equal Rights Legislation
(Springfield, IL)-Today Log Cabin Republicans call upon the Illinois General Assembly to pass legislation (SB 3186) banning discrimination based on sexual orientation in employment, housing, credit, and public accommodations.
"This legislation is necessary not only to protect hard-working Illinois families, but to ensure that our state can compete and attract new business and industry," said Patrick Ross, President of Log Cabin-Chicago. "This is simply the right thing to do."
"From Naperville to Peoria to Carbondale, fair-minded leaders have stood up to ensure the people of Illinois can live and work free from fear of discrimination," said Log Cabin President Patrick Guerriero. "It's time for the General Assembly to join them and stand with Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka in defense of freedom and fairness."
