Log Cabin Republicans / Liberty Education Forum Senior Development Administrator

Founded in the late 1970s, Log Cabin Republicans works within the Republican Party to advocate for equal rights for all Americans, including LGBT Americans. Log Cabin Republicans and the organization’s sister think tank, Liberty Education Forum, are involved in a variety of education and state and federal lobbying efforts regarding the rights of same-sex families, LGBT healthcare, HIV/AIDS, workplace and housing non-discrimination, national defense, upholding the constitution, and equal protection under the law. As a grassroots organization, Log Cabin Republicans has more than 50 local chapters across the nation. We are building a stronger, more inclusive Republican Party one person at a time. The Senior Development Administrator must exhibit:

  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute a fundraising development program, including working with large donors, growing a donor base, creating new revenue streams, and developing new fundraising programs.
  • Experience in budget development.
  • Familiarity with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) financial reporting requirements.
  • Able to develop a communications strategy that will allow for timely and impactful engagement with television, radio, print, and digital media.
  • Experience event planning, including managing logistics and execution.
  • Knowledge of social, political, and legislative issues that directly affect the LGBT community and the LCR/LEF missions.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; ability to discuss policies in an articulate and persuasive manner, both in writing (press releases and opinion editorials) and in face-to-face meetings and interviews.
  • Able to build consensus, problem solve, and work well with LCR/LEF board members and board committees.
  • Experience managing a small staff.
  • Experience with political campaigns helpful.
  • Existing relationships with potential donors a plus.
  • Well organized and able to manage details efficiently and independently.

Log Cabin Republicans and the organization’s sister think tank, Liberty Education Forum, are involved in a variety of education and state and federal lobbying efforts regarding the rights of same-sex families, LGBT healthcare, HIV/AIDS, workplace and housing non-discrimination, national defense, upholding the constitution, and equal protection under the law. The Senior Programming Administrator must exhibit:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic plan for organizational growth, including chapter outreach, grassroots membership building, developing novel programming, and building allies within the broader Conservative movement.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft policy positions based on LCR/LEF missions.
  • Knowledge of social, political, and legislative issues that directly affect the LGBT community and the LCR/LEF missions.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; ability to discuss policies in an articulate and persuasive manner, both in writing (press releases and opinion editorials) and in face-to-face meetings and interviews.
  • Able to support LCR/LEF board members as spokespersons with experience in messaging for all media formats, including television, radio, print, and digital.
  • Able to build consensus, problem solve, and work well with LCR/LEF board members and board committees.
  • Existing relationships with GOP leadership and/or national news media a plus.
  • Experience with political campaigns helpful.
  • Experience managing a small staff.
  • Well organized and able to manage details efficiently and independently.
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate occasional evening and weekend media appearances.
